Vintage Otagiri Japanese Lacquerware Tray Enchantment Hummingbirds in Flight

Vintage, Old Store Stock.  Enchantment Hummingbirds in Flight.  This is a beautiful, high polished Japanese Lacquerware Tray depicting two hummingbirds in flight getting nectar from a beautiful pink and rose flower. Beautiful cream white and gold soft colors.

Originally purchased in 1987 for my former store as a display item. The Otagiri Company is world known for its incredible detailed finished designs. Designed by: DESIGN EAST, Inc. Made in Japan.

Measures 14 inches long by 10 1/2 inches wide by 1 inch tall. Beautiful condition. Would make a great gift for any occasion.

Lacquerware is a decorative work applied to seal and protect the object, and then decoration is added. Generally, three coats (undercoat, middle-coat, and final coat) are used, the final coat sometimes being clear rather than black lacquer, in order to allow decorations to show through.
