My Story

I am a Pancreatic Cancer Survivor!  At the present time I am in my second remission and am currently cancer free.  I am very fortunate and blessed as my illness was caught at an early stage which has helped me to survive this deadly disease.  I now volunteer my time and try to help others who are diagnosed with all forms of cancer  to help them navigate both the physical and emotional challenges of these unexpected and unplanned for events in their lives.

People who survive cancer learn to educate themselves about the disease. You MUST FIND the right Oncologist and medical team, and often get second and even third opinions.  You have to be willing to stand up for yourself and not back down.  Most importantly, you have to believe in yourself and those who support you with a positive attitude that you can and will make it no matter how rough it might get.  And lastly, you need to find a reason and a purpose to live.  It may be for a loved one, or it maybe for  something that you always wanted to accomplish and then go for it!

After 18 months of rigorous chemo treatments and surgery, I was now in remission.  My hair started to grow back and life seemed to be getting much better.  Six months later, a new tumor was found on my liver.  After another round of chemo and losing my hair once again, I was finally declared to be cancer free once more; that was over two years ago.  The reality is that we never know how much time we have left.

However, until my last day, I am going to live life to the best that I can! I am going to laugh and love, sing and dance and thank God for all the wonderful people I have had the opportunity to meet in this crazy, beautiful world.

With warmest wishes and love...
